I want to describe a pepsi cola advertisement. Pepsi cola is a carbonated beverage sold in vending machines, restaurants, supermarkets or almost every corner of the earth.
In this advert, a teddy bear is seen hanging onto a string of lights on a christmas tree with one hand while with the other he is reaching for an open pepsi with a candy cane.
This advert has left me a deep impression because it cleverly makes use of powerful images related to a traditional holiday and the magic power this holiday brings about.
Finally, the advert is effective for the following reasons.
First, it tries to appeal to the target audience with the use of the traditional icon, Teddy Bear, to bring back audiences' childhood memories and the carefree and pure joy related to this special life stage. In this sense, it not only tries to sell a product, but helps to get the inner child out of everybody.
Second, a further look at this advert shows the warm and crackling fire in the background, which is linked with the nostalgic feelings of hearth and home. These subtle but powerful images can reach people's hearts deeply.
Third, such innovative and out of box characteristics of this advert really helps to break the monotony and add the buzz to this product. According to statistics, the sales of pepsi cola have skyrocketed since the release of this smart advert.

The graph gives a breakdown of how many goods were transported by four respective transport methods in the UK over a span of 28 years from 1974 to 2002.
As we can see from the graph, in 1974, the number of goods carried by road stood at a staggering 70 mt while that by pipeline was at the bottom at 5 mt. Simultaneously, similar quantities of goods were transported by water and rail at 40 mt.
During the following 28-year period, in spite of a steady state prior to 1981, the number of goods carried by road went up dramatically to 97mt in 1998, with a marginal rise in 2002, while that by pipeline had constantly ascended to 22 mt by 1996 before remaining stable at this figure until the end(过去完成时）.
In addition, it is worth noting that similar quantities of goods were carried by water and rail at 40 mt from 1974 to 1978.
